Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. navy or pinto beans
    2 qt. water
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/4 c. ketchup
    1 tsp. mustard
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 onion, chopped
    2 slices bacon, chopped, or 1/4 lb. salt pork
    2 to 3 tsp. chili powder (optional)
Preparation
    Soak beans in
    water
    overnight.
    In same liquid, bring beans to boil and simmer
    until
    tender,
    about
    1
    1/2 hours.
    Drain, reserving liquid.
    Combine
    remaining
    ingredients
    with beans. Put into 2-quart casserole.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 4 hours, adding liquid occasionally if necessary.
    Cover,
    during first half of baking time, then uncover.
