Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. squash, sliced thin
    2 c. onions, sliced thin
    4 medium bell peppers, sliced thin
    2 c. apple vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. pickling spices
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients; cover with ice cubes and let stand 1 hour.
    Rinse well.
    Mix remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Add vegetables and cook for 4 minutes.
    Put in jars and pour liquid over; seal.
