Sweet Bread Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake compressed yeast
    1 pt. lukewarm milk
    8 c. flour
    1 c. soft butter
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    rind of 1/2 lemon (optional)
Preparation
    Crumble yeast into bowl.
    Add 1 cup milk and 1 cup flour; set aside in warm place.
    Cream butter; add sugar and eggs.
    Mix well.
    Add remaining flour and salt alternately with yeast mixture and remaining milk.
    Add lemon rind.
    Knead until dough is smooth and elastic (15 minutes).
    Set aside in warm place until doubled in bulk (2 hours).
    Form into desired shapes.
    Allow to rise again for 2 hours.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
