Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. oleo
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 c. Karo
    3 c. peanuts (dry and raw)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    2 heaping tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Mix sugar, Karo and water together.
    Bring to a hard boil (240\u00b0).
    Add peanuts, oleo and salt.
    Cook until peanuts start bursting or 300\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla and soda. Stir fast and empty into 8 or 9 buttered pans.
    I use aluminum pie pans.
