Mint Julep Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 bunch fresh mint
    3 lemons
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    4 c. ginger ale
    12 blanched almonds
    12 maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Squeeze the juice from the lemons.
    Add the leaves of the mint, the sugar and water and let stand for 1 hour, then add the ginger ale, the almonds thinly sliced and the cherries cut into 4 pieces; pour this over 8 cups cracked ice and serve.
