Mrs. Wilkes' Boarding House Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large box instant vanilla pudding
    1 tsp. sherry extract
    1 sponge cake
    2/3 c. Cool Whip
    1 small jar maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Make pudding as directed on box.
    Let stand while breaking cake into bite-sized pieces.
    Add sherry to pudding and pour over cake. Stir whipped cream through mixture.
    Put mixture in a trifle bowl or clear glass bowl and garnish with cut up cherries.
    Serves 8.
