Hardtack Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. white sugar
1 c. white syrup
1 1/2 c. water
flavoring
coloring
confectioners sugar

Preparation

Boil first 3 ingredients until hard crack or 300\u00b0.
Add flavoring and coloring and pour out on confectioners sugar.
Roll into strings thin enough to cut with scissors.
Work quickly to prevent hardening.
