Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. Crisco
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 egg whites
    Cool Whip (large)
    cherry or berry pie filling
    jam (same flavor as pie filling)
Preparation
    Just mix together all ingredients except jam and pie filling. Put in two pans.
    Put jam between layers after cake has cooled. Put layers together and cover with Cool Whip.
    Spoon pie filling on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
