Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups diced onion
    1/4 cup butter
    4 cups large diced potatoes, about 2 lb
    1 carrot, coarsely grated
    2 cups water
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    1 teaspoon dill weed
    3 cups milk
    2 tablespoons parsley
    1/4 cup instant potatoes flakes
    1 cup ham, diced
Preparation
    In a large pot, brown onion and butter.
    Add potatoes, ham, carrot, salt, pepper, and dill weed.
    Cook on low heat until potatoes are creamy, about 45 minutes.
    Stir in milk and parsley, continue to cook.
    When mixture is heated through, stir in instant potatoes.
    You can add more or less instant potatoes depending on what constancy you like your soup.
