Hot Applesauce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 can sweetened applesauce
    2/3 c. small cinnamon candies
    2 pkg. lemon jello
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
Preparation
    Combine boiling water with cinnamon candies in a saucepan; stir over low heat to dissolve candies.
    Remove from heat, stir in jello and blend in applesauce.
    Pour 1/2 of mixture into 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Chill until firm.
    Leave remaining gelatin at room temperature.
    Blend cream cheese with mayonnaise; add nuts.
    Spread mixture over chilled mixture.
    Pour remaining gelatin over cheese.
    Chill several hours or until firm.
    Cut into squares.
    Serves 9 to 12.
    Good with ham, pork, roast or poultry.
