Favorite Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, cut up
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    1 large egg
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
    With pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat buttermilk and egg in small bowl.
    Pour over dry ingredients and stir with fork until mixture comes together.
    On lightly floured surface, knead dough 5 or 6 times.
    Transfer to greased cookie sheet.
    Pat into 8-inch circle and cut into 8 wedges or cut with biscuit cutter.
    Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for 14 to 16 minutes.
