Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 small (8-oz.) or 1 large lemon Jello
    1 lb. can jellied cranberries
    1 15-oz. can crushed pineapple
    1 8-oz. pkg. cream cheese
    1 pkg. Dream Whip (or similar)
    1/2 to 1 c. roasted almonds, chopped
    7 to 8 oz. ginger ale
Preparation
    Drain pineapple (reserve juice).
    Add water to juice to fill cup and heat to boiling.
    Add to Jello and dissolve thoroughly. Let cool (not in refrigerator).
    Gently stir in 7 to 8 oz. ginger ale.
    Mix pineapple and cranberry sauce together well and fold into Jello.
    Set in refrigerator until lightly set.
    Mix package of Dream Whip according to directions on box.
    Soften cream cheese until soft and spreadable.
    Spread over Jello mixture.
