C.H.S. Home Economics Department'S Delicious Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    5 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. baking soda (not powder)
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm (not hot) water.
    Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
    Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture looks \"crumbly\".
    Stir in yeast and buttermilk; mix well.
    Roll out onto floured surface.
    Cut with biscuit cutter. Place on baking sheet.
    Bake at 500\u00b0 until brown (about 10 minutes).
    May store dough in refrigerator in covered container up to a week and use as needed.
