Coconut Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. coconut flavoring
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. coconut flavoring
Preparation
    Mix together sugar and hot water and stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Heat over high heat, bringing to a boil and boiling about 1 minute.
    Add coconut flavoring.
