Cowboy Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
2 eggs, well beaten

Preparation

Combine flour, salt, sugar and shortening; mix until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup of mixture.
Chopped nuts can be added to this if desired.
