Iowa Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put shortening and sugar in mixing bowl; cover with boiling water.
    Sift dry ingredients and add to hot mixture.
    Then add eggs and vanilla.
    Stir.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
