Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. currant jelly (optional)
Preparation
    Chop cabbage quite fine.
    Melt shortening in large skillet. Add cabbage, vinegar, salt and sugar.
    Cook slowly until done. Season to taste with additional salt, sugar, vinegar, jelly or fruit juice.
