English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter (not margarine)
2 c. sugar
3/4 to 1 lb. almonds, chopped
semi-sweet chocolate chips
slivered almonds
Preparation

Butter 11 x 17-inch cookie sheet well.
Toast almonds 10 minutes at 300\u00b0 (watch carefully not to burn).
Combine in saucepan, butter, sugar and almonds, stirring constantly, to 300\u00b0. Pour on cookie sheet; sprinkle on top semi-sweet chocolate chips; spread with spatula until melted.
Sprinkle
on slivered almonds when cool completely and break up like peanut brittle.
