Salsa...Mexican Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (28 oz.) or 2 (15 oz.) cans diced tomatoes or the equivalent of fresh grown, canned tomatoes
    2 to 3 jalapenos
    1/2 to 3/4 c. white or yellow onion
    2 to 3 cloves garlic
    1 Tbsp. oregano
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Slice peppers long ways and place into a saucepan. Just cover with water. Be sure to use a lid because the fumes of the peppers boiling may choke you. Boil until peppers are tender, about 4 to 5 minutes.
