Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks oleo or butter (do not use spread)
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 eggs
    3 c. flour
    2 cans cherry (apple, peach or blueberry) pie filling or 2 cans crushed pineapple (juice too)
Preparation
    Cream oleo and sugar.
    Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
    Add flour; mix.
    Spread 3/4 batter on a greased and floured cookie sheet, 18 x 12 x 1-inch.
    Make it a little higher on the sides of the pan.
    Spread 2 cans of pie filling over all.
    Drop the remaining batter here and there over all.
    It spreads and makes its own design when baked.
