Sweet And Sour Veggies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can water chestnuts, sliced
    1 1/2 c. sliced carrots, parboiled and cooled
    1 raw green pepper
    1 head cauliflower, broken into pieces
    1 small can sliced mushrooms
    1 jar stuffed olives
    1 small can sliced black olives
    sliced celery and frozen peas
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. salad oil
    2/3 c. plus 2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Slice all vegetables finely.
    Bring sugar, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to a boil for 4 to 5 minutes.
    Pour over vegetables and chill overnight or several hours.
