Shirley'S Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 2/3 c. milk
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans or one 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Combine dry ingredients
    in
    a
    large
    mixing bowl. Add milk, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
    Blend ingredients
    at low speed for 3 minutes.
    Pour
    into
    pans.
    Bake
    at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes for layers and
    35 to 40 minutes for the
    larger
    cake pan
    or use cake
    tester
    method.
    Cool
    10 minutes.
    Then remove from pans
    and
    cool
    completely.
    Frost with Mocha Cream Frosting or
    chocolate frosting.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
