Meringue Tarts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. Gold Medal flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    4 Tbsp. heavy cream
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and 1 cup sugar until very stiff.
    Cream butter and 3/4 cup sugar until fluffy.
    Add egg yolks.
    Add flour and baking powder alternately with the cream. (Use 2 round pans.)
    Divide the butter mixture and spread out in pans.
    Top, divided egg mixture so cake is completely covered. Bake in slow oven so meringue does not get too brown, 40 minutes. (Try sides to test doneness.)
    Put fresh strawberries and whipped cream between layers.
