Potato Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. hot mashed potatoes
    1 c. hot milk
    2 1/2 c. Swans Down cake flour
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 sq. chocolate
    1 c. English walnuts, chopped
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream butter or oleo, adding sugar gradually.
    Add well beaten egg yolks.
    Sift flour with baking powder and spices.
    Add to the first mixture a little flour and milk, until all is used.
    Beat the batter hard; add spices.
    Mix the chocolate with the hot mashed potatoes.
    Add the whites of 2 eggs, beaten stiff.
    Add chocolate and nuts to the cake batter and bake in three layers in a moderate oven.
