Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    approximately 1 gal. raw, chopped cabbage
    approximately 1 qt. raw, chopped onions
    approximately 1 qt. raw, chopped green peppers
    approximately 1 qt. raw, chopped green tomatoes
    1 gal. vinegar
    10 c. sugar
Preparation
    Put in large container (ice chest).
    Pour water over top of vegetables.
    Put in 10 level tablespoons pickling salt and let set for 2 hours.
    Squeeze out water.
    Put vegetables in pot with vinegar and salt.
    Bring to a boil and put in jars with lids.
    The jars will seal themselves.
