Fried Pies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. fruit
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Mix cinnamon with fruit.
Set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, shortening and milk.
Mix well.
Turn onto lightly floured surface.
Knead about 10 times.
Break dough into 15 to 18 balls.
Roll each ball about 1/2-inch thick.
Cut in 6-inch circles.
Place about 3 tablespoons fruit on circle.
Fold in half.
Press edges together.
Fry in deep fat until brown.
