Raisin Jumbo Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    1 c. water
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine raisins and 1 cup of water in saucepan.
    Cook for 3 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cream shortening and sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
    Blend in eggs and vanilla.
    Stir in raisins with liquid.
    Add sifted dry ingredients gradually, mixing well after each addition.
    Stir in pecans.
    Drop by tablespoonfuls 1 inch apart onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until brown.
    Remove to wire rack to cool.
    Oven temperature for baking is 375\u00b0.
