Italian Dream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flaked coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and margarine.
    Add sugar and beat well.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Sift together the flour and baking soda.
    Add to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla, coconut and pecans. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in 3 (9-inch) cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool.
    Fill with your favorite filling or frosting.
