New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 potatoes, diced (cook until tender)
    1 onion, chopped (fry in 2 Tbsp. butter)
    1/4 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3 cans diced clams
    1 c. milk
    2 c. cream
Preparation
    In large pot, melt 1/4 cup butter and 2 tablespoons flour. Stir until smooth.
    Add 1 cup milk and 2 cups cream (whipping). Cook until thick (about 10 minutes).
    Add potatoes, onions, salt and pepper to taste.
    Stir in clams and heat.
