Apricot Bars(Yummy!) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans peeled apricots, drained (save 1/4 c. juice)
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 small pkg. coconut
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cook 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup apricot juice and apricots until slightly thickened.
    Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar.
    Blend in flour and soda.
    Stir in coconut and walnuts.
    Place 3 cups of mixture (very dry) in bottom of greased 12 x 8-inch pan.
    Pat down.
    Bake 10 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Remove from oven and spread apricot mixture over cooked portion.
    Sprinkle remaining mixture on top.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes or more until golden brown.
