30-Minute Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    2 sticks oleo
    2 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Mix well sugar, syrup and milk. Bring this to a boil on medium to high heat.
    When it reaches first boiling, turn to simmer and cook 30 minutes.
    Do not stir while cooking.
    Cool and whip to desired consistency.
