Candied Carrots With Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large carrots, peeled and sliced
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 to 2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Put carrots in saucepan.
    Cover with boiling salted water.
    Cover and cook just until tender.
    Drain. Combine sugar and cinnamon.
    Alternate layers of carrots and apples in greased casserole.
    Sprinkle sugar mixture over each layer.
    Dot top with butter or margarine.
    Bake 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
    Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
