Double Almond Crunch Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. coarsely chopped almonds
    1 c. finely chopped almonds
    1 c. butter
    1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 c. melted chocolate chips
Preparation
    Spread almonds in separate shallow pans.
    Place in a slow oven (300\u00b0) until nuts are delicate brown.
    Watch carefully.
    Melt butter over low heat in a 2-quart heavy saucepan.
    Add sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Cook, stirring occasionally, to hard crack stage (300\u00b0).
    Quickly stir in warmed, toasted coarsely chopped almonds. Spread in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Cool thoroughly.
    Spread with melted chocolate chips and top with fine chopped nuts.
    Break in pieces.
