Date Filled Oatmeal Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. plain flour
2 c. quick cooking oats, uncooked
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
Preparation

Combine flour, oats, soda, salt and brown sugar.
Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Press half of mixture into a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
