Chili With Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground meat
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 1/2 c. tomato sauce
    1 bay leaf
    1 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 c. water or beef stock
Preparation
    Heat
    heavy
    4-quart
    pot.
    Drop
    meat
    in.
    When
    meat begins to
    brown on the bottom, add garlic, onion, celery and bell pepper.
    Stir
    with meat until well sauteed.
    Add tomato sauce, bay
    leaf
    and
    stir until boiling.
    Add chili powder, salt, pepper
    and
    3
    cups
    of
    water (or beef stock made from cooking soup bones).
    Bring to boil, then simmer for about 30 minutes. Add potatoes and parsley, cook 30 more minutes until potatoes are tender.
    Seasoning and water may be added according
    to
    taste. Serve
    hot
    with
    slices
    of
    Cheddar cheese, crackers and homemade bread.
