Royal Roast Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. roast, eye of round, sirloin tip, rum
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 c. onion, finely chopped
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 Tbsp. dark Karo syrup
    2 Tbsp. white vinegar
    2 c. beef stock or 2 beef bouillon cubes
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown roast in butter and oil. Remove roast and brown onions. Remove pan from heat and add flour, stirring until blended.
