Icebox Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 egg
    5 to 6 c. flour
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over sugar, salt and shortening.
    Stir until salt and everything is dissolved.
    Cool to warm.
    Add yeast, which has been dissolved in warm water, and beaten egg.
    Mix well. Stir in enough flour to make soft dough.
    Rub surface with oil or shortening and store in the refrigerator.
    Take out the amount needed, knead well, roll, cut, butter, put on pan, cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
    Bake.
