Old Fashioned Bake Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 large baking apples
2 Tbsp. butter
maple syrup
cinnamon
nutmeg
2 Tbsp. water
Preparation

Wash apples but do not peel them.
Core by taking out center from top to bottom.
Cut thin slice off apple bottoms so they will sit upright in skillet.
Melt butter in heavy skillet over moderate flame.
Place apples in pan.
Fill core cavities with maple syrup.
Dust apples with cinnamon and pinch of nutmeg.
Add water to pan.
Cover and simmer over low flame for about 20 minutes.
Apples may be served as is or with dab of whipped cream. Serves 4.
