Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter
2 large eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Mix oatmeal and boiling water.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Cream together sugar and butter.
Add eggs; beat thoroughly.
Add from sifter: flour, soda, salt plus cocoa and oatmeal mixture.
Stir in 1/2 of chocolate chips and nuts.
