Choke Cherry Liquor - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. ripe choke cherries
    2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    1 qt. brandy
Preparation
    Make a heavy syrup out of the two cups water and 2 cups sugar. Cook this syrup.
    Add choke cherries and brandy to syrup mixture in a gallon jar.
    Set jar out into sun and burp every day from 3 to 4 weeks.
    Do bring in jar at night and set out each day.
    After all this, strain and put in bottle.
