Gravy Smothered Minute Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 tenderized minute steaks
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    1 c. flour
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Salt and pepper steaks. Dip in buttermilk, then into flour. Fry in hot Crisco shortening until brown. Remove steaks from shortening.
    Add 1/2 flour, salt and pepper.
    Stir until smooth, then add 2 cups water to make a gravy.
    Return steaks into gravy and cook about 1 1/2 hours on low heat until tender; turn often.
