Easy Stack Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. light molasses
1 c. melted shortening
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 or 4 c. applesauce
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour six (9-inch) round pans.
Blend sugar, molasses and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Add flour alternately with milk.
Add salt, soda and spices.
Mix until smooth.
Pour 1 cup batter into each pan.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes at 250\u00b0.
Let cool.
Stack layers, spreading applesauce generally between layers.
Sift confectioners sugar on top layer.
Can also use apple butter.
