Sour Cream Custard Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slightly beaten eggs
    2 c. milk
    1/3 c. sugar
    dash of salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. dairy sour cream
    fresh fruit
Preparation
    In a heavy saucepan, combine the eggs, milk, sugar and salt. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture coats a metal spoon. Pour custard mixture into a medium bowl; set inside a larger bowl filled with ice.
    Stir in the vanilla.
    Continue stirring 1 to 2 minutes.
    Gradually stir custard into sour cream; cover and chill. Serve over desired fresh fruit.
    Makes 3 1/4 cups.
