Cherokee Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can tomatoes
1 c. Minute rice
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. oregano
1 bay leaf
3/4 c. onion
Cheddar cheese, sliced
Preparation

Brown meat in oil.
Drain.
Add onion and cook until tender. Add tomatoes, soup, rice and seasonings.
Let simmer about 5 minutes or longer if it seems too juicy.
Remove bay leaf and pour into casserole dish.
Top with sliced Cheddar cheese.
Bake at 400\u00b0 until the cheese is browned.
Freezes well.
