Classic Coconut Cake(1992 Wv State Fair Blue Ribbon Winner) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    8 egg whites
    Pineapple Filling
    Seven-Minute Frosting
    1 3/4 c. shredded coconut
Preparation
    Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
    Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in flavorings.
    Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form; fold into creamed mixture.
