Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburg
    2 onions, chopped
    3 carrots, sliced
    1 pt. green beans
    1/2 small head cabbage, shredded
    1 qt. can tomatoes
    3 qt. water
    salt and pepper
    2 potatoes, cut in cubes
Preparation
    Saute hamburg.
    Place in 4-quart kettle.
    Add 3 quarts water. Cook meat until tender.
    Add potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, cabbage, salt and pepper.
    Continue cooking for about 1 hour. Sometimes more liquid needs to be added and other vegetables may be added such as peas and 1/4 cup rice.
    Also a soup bone can be used instead of hamburg.
