Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 to 10 medium cucumbers
    6 medium white onions
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    3 c. white vinegar
    1/3 c. salt
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and
    onions
    thin.
    Fill
    gallon jar or container that can\tbe
    covered.
    Layer
    cucumbers\tand onion. Mix cold the rest of the ingredients.
    Stir well and pour over cucumber-onion slices.
    Put
    in refrigerator.
    Shake jar every morning for 7 to
    10
    days\tto
    mix
    spices and dissolve sugar well.
    (If you do
    not
    have enough cucumbers to fill jar, add to mixture.)
    After
    mixture
    has
    \"pickled\"
    (approximately 2 weeks) to suit your
    taste,
    this\tmay be put in smaller jars. They do not have
    to be sealed.
    Must be kept in refrigerator. They will keep for up to a year.
