Apple Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    1 c. chopped apples
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add apples, then egg and milk.
    Fold gently, just enough to blend. Bake in greased and floured muffin tins at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Makes 16 large muffins.
