Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. trimmed stew beef (or boneless chuck)
    1 3/4 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    1 c. ketchup
    dash of salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 onions, finely chopped
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef in oil in deep kettle.
    Bring to boil rest of ingredients.
    Simmer 3 to 4 hours.
    Thicken with flour and water to make gravy.
    Serve over noodles.
