Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. diced potatoes
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. diced onion
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    1 1/2 c. chicken broth
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1/4 tsp. salt
    generous dash of red pepper
    2 c. cream (half and half)
    1 (8 oz.) carton French onion dip
    1 Tbsp. flour
    bacon, cooked crisp
Preparation
    In large saucepan, combine potatoes, celery, onion, carrots, chicken broth, garlic, salt and red pepper.
    Cover and cook until tender (20
    minutes).
    Add one cup cream; heat.
    In medium bowl, blend dip and flour; stir in the remaining cup of cream gradually. Pour about 1/3 of the hot potato mixture into the dip mixture and return to saucepan.
    Cook and stir until thickened.
    Garnish with crumbled bacon.
